I grew up in Memphis, TN in an African Methodist Episcopal Church (AME). I became very disillusioned with “God” and “Jesus” as a young adult. I didn’t understand why “God” allowed bad things to happen to good people nor did I understand why I didn’t hear of things He/God was doing in current times.
My journey with YAH began in June of 1994, about 2.5 years after I met Carl B. Thompson. I was tired of the whole dating experience and asked “God” to give me a husband. I made a deal with “God” by saying, “If You send me a husband, I’ll do all I can to bring him to you.” At that time, I was a Christian and called YAH “God” and YAHSHUA “Jesus”.
Carl and I had been dating long distance, on and off, and I had pretty much written him off. Six months after my prayer for a husband, Carl proposed on New Year’s Eve. We were married in my hometown six months later. YAH answered my prayer! [1Sam 1:10-11d, John 14:13-14]
Beginning the day of our marriage, my life was turned upside down. Most of my family and some of my friends behaved antagonistically towards us. My job was no longer fulfilling, Carl and I were constantly clashing, and I was very unhappy. My life was definitely not going the way I had planned. My dream of “Happily Ever After” was not materializing! I asked YAH to connect us with a good Church, like the one that helped the McCaugheys with their septuplets. (The septuplets were born November 19, 1997. I saw their story on Oprah.)
In June of 1998, Carl came home and announced, “I’m going back to Michigan! You can come with me or you can stay here. I don’t care what you do, but I’m going back to Michigan!” I had promised YAH that I would ‘do all I could to bring Carl to HIM’, so I had to follow Carl to Michigan. We moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan.
About two months after moving to Ypsilanti, YAH connected us with a loving Church in Milan, Michigan, called The Vineyard. The Pastor was a great Teacher. It was there that Carl and I learned about YAH’s “Kingdom 1st” Principal, Repentance, Prayer, Gifts of The Spirit, and Deliverance. The presence of YAH’s Spirit was so overwhelming for me that I cried every time we went to church, for the first five months. YAH was healing my spirit (delivering me).

Carl and I attended as many of The Vineyard’s Workshops, Seminars, and Classes as we could. We were quite active in the Church and grew spiritually.
When The Pastor taught about Salvation, I asked “Jesus” to come into my heart (I didn’t remember saying such a prayer in the AME Church). When The Pastor taught about “The Holy Spirit”, I asked “The Holy Spirit” to come into my heart. My heart was so full that I felt like I was going to have a heart attack. The following day, I got the idea to ask “The Holy Spirt” to move to the center of my being. HE did and I immediately felt relief. (This is still true today. YAHSHUA is in my heart and YAH’s Spirit is in the center of my being.)
After The Pastor taught about “The Gift of Tongues”, Carl and I attended a two-day workshop to become members of “The Prayer Team”. Carl was “Baptized in The Spirit” on the second day. He received “The Gift of Tongues” and “The Gift of Prophecy”; He started speaking in tongues and prophesying immediately. I was fascinated by these gifts, but very skeptical. I kept looking at Carl to see if he was faking it. (The AME Church I attended didn’t believe in the “Movement of The Holy Spirit” let alone the practice of “Speaking in Tongues”.) I had to overcome my preconceived notions about the “The Gifts of The Spirit” and teach myself not to be afraid of “The Holy Spirit”. I asked others how they acquired their “Tongues”. Finally, I asked “God” to remove my mental block and to give me “Tongues” that sounded like a language instead of gibberish. I practiced in the shower for months, pretending to speak Spanish. Then one day, the block was gone. I was finally able to speak in “Tongues”!
After The Pastor taught that ‘Husbands and Wives Should Pray Together’, Carl and I started praying together. That’s when the fun began. Carl started “Seeing Visions” and “God”/YAH started talking to him. I loved it! Carl and I would sit and talk about the Kingdom and Scriptures for hours. We told family members and friends our “God” experiences. That was a “Game Changer” for us! We were persecuted by family, friends, and Church Members, and quickly learned that not all Christians take the scriptures literally.
On Tue, September 19, 2000, Carl and I had a visitation (like Paul on “The Road to Damascus”). [Acts Chp. 9] While praying in our bedroom, Carl went into a trance and “Jesus”/YAHSHUA embodied him. [Ex 3:1-12] “Jesus”/YAHSHUA spoke to me through Carl. We talked for about 30 minutes or so. HE put HIS/Carl’s hand over my heart and told me to ask HIM anything. I’m ashamed to say that I asked HIM to send us money for our bills. HE told me that HE would bless me. I attempted to press the issue, but HE cut me off and told me sternly, “Trelis, I will bless you!” I made a mental note that I had made a big mistake; then I asked HIM what Carl was supposed to do. “Jesus”/YAHSHUA replied, “Carl is going to heal people.” Next, I asked, “What am I supposed to do?” HE replied, “You are going to love people.” My last question was, “What about our families?” “Jesus”/YAHSHUA replied, “They haven’t found me yet?” It is important to note that our family members have been “Christians” and going to “Church” all of their lives.
The Pastor and the Elders of The Milan Vineyard Church didn’t understand “God’s”/YAH’s empowerment of Carl and began to reject our service in various ministries. They didn’t believe in modern-day Apostles, didn’t believe that “God”/YAH spoke audibly, and didn’t believe “God” was empowering Carl. The Pastor told us to stop praying for people at “his” church.
In the year of 2001, YAH told us to go to Nairobi Kenya, Africa for 3 years. On August 15, 2002, Carl rescinded our membership with The Milan Vineyard Church, as directed by YAH. We moved out of our apartment in Ypsilanti, MI on September 3, 2002 and arrived in Nairobi, Kenya on November 9, 2002. (The article, “About Apostle Carl B. In all of our journeying with YAH and YAHSHUA, I have learned that FAITH is the currency in YAH’s Kingdom. [Hebrews 11:16] It is actually our level/measure of Trust in YAH & YAHSHUA. [Hebrews 11:1] The more we trust THEM, the more FAITH we have. The more FAITH we have, the more FAVOR we have!
I am a Seer (a Prophet) like Samuel, Isaiah, Daniel, and Elijah. YAH has called me to “See Into Forever”. YAH has blessed me with: “Divine Love”, “Divine Faith”, “Great Spiritual Discernment”, “Great Wisdom”, and “Great-Great-Great Favor”.

3. Feed YAH & YAHSHUA’s People
